UX Accessibility Specialist

Position Description:

Evaluate both internal and external-facing web applications using tools such as ANDI and JAWS to assess accessibility defects

Work collaboratively with internal accessibility team to verify results of accessibility testing

Work with stakeholders to review accessibility testing results and provide code remediation and potential solutions furthering accessibility of the given application

Identify and suggest process improvements to further accessibility practices

Conducting surveys of customers to determine their satisfaction with the level of service provided by businesses

Testing websites for compliance with federal laws regarding accessibility for people with disabilities

Skills Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 7 Years of relevant work experience OR Master's degree and 5 Years of relevant work experience as a User Experience Specialist or a minimum of 11 years related experience in lieu of a degree.

Must provide a digital portfolio of design work for review

Must be able to obtain a Public Trust

Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis

Minimum of 5 years of accessibility/section 508 compliance testing experience

Required Skills:

Minimum of 5 years of direct experience with accessibility guidelines (Section 508, WCAG, ADA, etc.)

Minimum of 5 years of experience performing manual (and/or automated) testing of web applications with accessibility tools

Minimum of 5 years of experience presenting accessibility findings and recommendations to small and large groups of stakeholders

Minimum of 2 years of developing test plans, cases, and scenarios

Desired Skills:

Experience using axe Monitor

Experience using ANDI, JAWS, and similar accessibility tools

Trusted Tester Certification

Experience with accessibility and section 508 compliance testing on mobile devices

Experience with HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript, or other programming languages

Experience with the Agile/Scrum methodology

Understanding of responsive design and UX methods

Prior experience supporting government agencies

Other Certifications:

Trusted Tester Certification (optional)

Education/Work Experience:
