Avis Budget Group [Steady state IT team], USA Jun’14 - till date

 

Avis Budget is the leading general-use vehicle rental company in North America, Europe, Middle East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The company's headquarters are located in Parsippany, New Jersey, United States. I am a Senior developer of application development team and scope of my work includes the new applications to be built without any issues, resolve experienced application problems, give support to the Application users and Maintain and further develop the Application.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Working with end-users to assess requirements and creating feasible solutions.
  • Accountable for designing, coding, development, testing, documentation and debugging of applications to fulfil the user requirements.
  • Creating new functionalities as per business requirements.
  • Knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Preparing system test plan and coordinating system test across multiple teams.
  • Debugging and implementing the system.

Wizard One source, Avis Budget Group [strategic IT team], USA Mar’ 14-May’14

 

Wizard One Source project was to deliver a brand neutral integrated Rent-A-Car system. This is in alignment with ABG's long term vision to operate multiple brands using a single generic code base with brand specific add-on components where necessary. The objective of the project was to create the generic source code base for an integrated system and migrate the existing Avis and Budget systems to execute using the generic code base.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Analysis and identifying the functional/technical gaps across brands (Avis and Budget). Create an impact analysis and share it with business.
  • Preparation of technical specifications based on the existing functionality and requirements.
  • Create JCLs to run in both Batch and DLI mode.
  • Knowledge Transfer to the offshore team with business functionality and project requirements.
  • Involved in preparing test plans for Unit testing and System testing.
  • Impact analysis for requirement changes, finding affected list of programs and homogeneous implementation.
  • Perform peer review and log any issues and track till it is closed.
  • Status reporting and responsible for the final delivery.

Avis China project is to have a proper global RAC system in China. China is very likely to become one of the largest self-drive RAC markets in the world. The main objective of this project was to integrate Chinese language in existing RAC system Wizard.

  • Working with end-users to assess requirements and creating feasible solutions.
