It is a Re-Engineering project of GEM (Global Equipment Management) module of APL. Currently this module is in mainframe. APL has requested for Re-Engineering of this module into Java. It is a full cycle project. A lot of discussion happened with the client in every stage of this project. The mainframe screens changed into Visio files to represent UI. Use case documents are made as per the discussion and requirements of the client. After that HLD and DLD was made as per the use cases. Prototype was made to show the look and feel of the screens to the client. This includes the completion of End to End flow of the screens.

Intermodal Cargo Management System is the system that handles the movement of cargo via train. This application accepts order information electronically from users and creates updates and deletes a rail order as required. The rail order is the booking of the cargo that needs to be moved via train.ICMS is also responsible for the movement of train and the movement of cargo in the container in the train. It creates load plan for a container to a railcar in the system. The physical loading is done by railroad personnel. Once the train is reached at the desired location where the cargo needs to reach, the ICMS discharges or unloads the cargo from the train.

The Aggregated Market Purpose Identifier (AMPI) expansion is a project to expand the AMPI code used in core order processing systems that was developed on CICS COBOL/ DB2. AMPI is a 5-digit code used to identify a category of products. This code needs to be expanded to 10 digits. The changes would involve modifying CICS MAPS, DB2 Database Tables, Reports, Batch programs (COBOL), JCL and copybooks.
